Sometimes we experience difficulties that we can't seem to solve on our own. It may be a life transition that creates unexpected challenges, such as moving, changing jobs, or losing a loved one. It may be a relationship problem or a difficult situation at work. Or it may be more of an internal struggle, in which we find ourselves feeling worried, lonely, or stuck. Sometimes we just have a vague sense that something isn't right, that we're not as happy or fulfilled as we could be.

Some of the challenges with which I help adults include:

  • Anxiety, worry, and panic

  • Recurrent, intrusive, and/or distressing thoughts

  • Depression and sadness

  • Grief and loss

  • Relationship problems

  • Parenting challenges

  • Job and career concerns

  • Phase-of-life challenges

  • Trauma and PTSD

  • Sexual and gender identity issues

When facing these kinds of challenges, talking to a therapist can be a source of great help. The therapy I practice is intended to address your immediate problems and symptoms while also helping you craft a life that feels more engaging, rewarding, and meaningful. In my experience, this is best achieved in the context of a safe and supportive relationship in which you can think freely and without judgment about the challenges you’re facing. My style is warm, collaborative, and down-to-earth, and I especially value compassion and humor.
